We're still not certain whether we should stay with dribbling.org or keep looking for a better name. I think that the best way to do it is to keep asking people for ideas. Here's couple of things that matter here.

1. Either domain.com, domain.net or domain.org should not be taken. There are plenty of places where you can check whether domain is taken. I use http://www.godaddy.com.

2. I can see two possibilities:

a. choosing a football-related word (like dribbling, freekick, hattrick, etc.). No need to tell why.

b. the way I'd like to see it: a branded name (like google, yahoo, skype, etc.).

3. What to look for?
-- something that's short. 3 syllables max (although I'd prefer 1 or 2. One might be tough to find). I don't want people to say I like to play "Really Cool Football Management Game. I'd rather see them saying something like I like to play "booba" (I'm not thinking about booba :) ).
-- something that looks cool. For example dribbling.org is cool cause it has double "b". If we used that name, we could make a shortcut... when somebody says/writes "bb", he means "dribbling". Or we could make a logo with two referee whistles instead of letters "b".
-- something that sounds nice. For example "yahoo" and "skype" sound very nice.
-- something that's hard to forget or confuse. Mike says to Peter: "I like some game. You can find it at gooba.com. Peter comes home and tries goobah.com, gubah.com, etc... and forgets about the whole thing after 3 tries. That's something we don't want.

So please, help us and try to think of some good domain name. Hmmm... how about a contest? If we choose your domain, you'll get a lifetime supporter :)

greetings,
jerzy

I like it. Mostly because it's funny and easy to remember.
Tomek says it's long, my sister says it doesn't sound nice. I'll put that on the "for consideration" list.

Welcome to dribbling.org Vida Péter Tamás! (I'd call you Peter, but I'm pretty much confused here, is Vida a first name? :P ).

Sounds nice, but is a bit too long, plus it sounds a bit hattrickish (and I want to stay away from it whenever I can... years of ht experience have downsides, too - sometimes it's hard to come up with a different way of doing something that seems so obvious).

Anyways, thanks and keep looking!

Heil Mateusz

I've got your point... But i think 'Clubhouse' is not too Hattrickish, but you have to choose... orherwise dribbling.org is good enough... thats my opinion...

I made a reccomendation to a Hungarian linksite ( mainly contains online manager links ) to put up a link to 'dribbling.org', as a developing projekt.

Good luck with the programming... im looking forward to play with the game... :) Vida is my family name, Péter (Peter), and Tamás (thomas) my other names... call me Vida :)

Peter: thanks for this link thingy, I appreciate that!

Pussilcoda: welcome and thanks for your idea, I like it and I'll put it on our list.

Generally, we have over 15 different acceptable ideas, I personally like two of them very much (one of them even has all .com/net/org versions free to register). Anyways, we're hoping to get ideas on this forums... if not, we'll register one of those favorites during beta tests (I'd say we should start open beta-testing in around 2 months...).

I like playball.*, but they (.com, .net, .org) are taken.

I registered fooba.org and fooba.net, which everybody (except Marcin Chlopas) either likes a lot or loves (my sister) :).

imo playball is by far the best idea, so, hey, what about playball.tv ? it's available and it sounds like Playboy TV (good connotations & easy to remember ;) ).

P.S. thnx for the new password :)
