Fame

It's been a while since I posted some new details. We just had a lot of "cleaning up" and "polishing everything" duties (yes, it's that "almost done" phase which... ehm... takes forever :/ ). Recently I gradually started writing a manual, so I guess I might as well post a chapter or a part of it now and then. Let's start with the concept of fame, which basically tells you how well-known your team is among football fans.

Famous teams attract more spectators at their games, also sponsors are willing to pay more money if they know that a lot of people (customers!) are interested in viewing your matches, reading and talking about your team.

Fame is fluctuating rather slowly, as your team wins (or loses) games. Several things are taken into consideration when fame is calculated:
* results of matches. It's not only about losing, drawing or winning - goal difference also matters. Crushing your opponent 5-0 yields better results that winning 2-1.
* game's importance. Friendly matches are far less important, but still, they do count!
* fame of the opposing team. Winning against Real Madrid would skyrocket your fame (imagine all those articles in national press!), while winning over a weaker team won't matter a lot. Similarly, losing to Real is not a shame and nobody will lose interest in your team after even a severe defeat. Drawing will lower "better" team's fame a bit (and increase "worse" team's fame).
* league level you're playing in. Winning 20 games straight in a fourth league won't make you more famous than being a mediocre team in the first league.
* your past achievements. Being a good team over the years means something to people.
* recognition of football in your country. It's pretty natural - there are many teams in a country that has many people interested in football. And second league team in a country with a lot of football supporters gets more attention than the champion of Wiki Tiki Tombo Islands.

As you can see, performing well over the time makes your team more acknowledged among the people, which attracts more spectators and sponsor money. Don't underestimate this.
